About & Etc.

Sideways

Forward-thinking madness features the ramblings of a long-time blogger who decided to start from scratch.  I started “blogging” back in 1999 at pitas.com (Oh, the memories), and progressed from there.  This blog may feature thoughts on music, art, design, and life in general, & a few photos strewn about.  Almost daily, almost coherent – definitely with a bit of forward-thinking madness, whatever that means?

Who am I? I’m Linda.  I’m thirty-two.  I spend a lot of time at the gym.  Sometimes I like to think of myself as a runner, sometimes not.  I’m currently training to complete a sprint triathlon in 2010 so join me on my journey which I am sure will be full of comedy, injuries and more comedy. I was once an artist, but struggle with my creative side.

Random things about me: I love Tori Amos, Radiohead, photography, staying fit (duh), the free beer after running races (Michelob ultra, yo), grayscale, cheesecake, kickboxing, my iPhone, cilantro-jalapeno hummus, pushing my endurance to the point where I begin to hallucinate or puke (or both), my amazing niece, pianos, Les Mills classes at the gym (there I go with the gym thing again), caffe lattes from Starbucks, Artoo Detoo, and Family Guy. I cannot stand: people who think in order to get from point A to B they have to query me (please, think for yourself), people who belong this new ultra-conservative very scary phenomenon known as the Tea Party (why can’t we just all get along and drink tea?), shin splints and runner’s knee, my introverted nature, polyester, running shorts that creep up my waist so I have to constantly pull them down (!), people who can swim better than I can (which is 99% of the population), ego-centric narcissists, alcoholics, romance novels, that Glenn Beck dude, Sarah Palin (she scares me), and cheesy over-fabricated auto-tuned pop muzak.

Find me on: TwitterFlickr & Last.fm. I also keep a strange weblog called “Common Trickery” that involves those uber-trendy posts full of links, witty retort, and random photos.
