Tampa Museum of Art 2/13/10

20 Feb

Alix and I visited the Tampa Museum of Art on Saturday 2/13/10. Just a note if you’re planning on visiting and a bit budget-conscious like myself, the second Saturday each month offers free admission. I enjoyed the Matisse exhibition as it outlined the development of some of his works, from concept to final product. I left wishing the museum was larger – I have a feeling that the entire museum isn’t quite open yet as it took barely an hour to explore and see every work. I’ll post more photos soon.

PS Action Addiction! (& Etc.)

23 May

I’m addicted to Photoshop Actions right now. Yes, it may be cheating, but it’s helpful when I can’t afford a new camera, or a Holga, or to find a cool old Polaroid camera and the appropriate film.  So, I will just play with my Photoshop actions. Deviantart has a lot of great ones.  Found this free Holga action today, but haven’t tried it yet.

I think this is of the first times I’ve ever written about something related to design.  I haven’t been inspired to design, or do much related to it.  It’s been that way for quite awhile.  I guess my muse only makes special guest appearances from time to time. I’m going to get a couple bulletin boards to post on the wall behind my desk and fill it with inspiration imagery.  I’ll post results when finished.  Now I just need to get the bulletin boards.  (Making a trip to the new Ikea in Tampa this weekend.  Maybe I’ll find some affordable photo frames and such too.)

” The more one tries to see in the distance, the more generalized things become.”

I read three chapters of this book last night before bed and this was the line, the sentence, that remained in my mind all day today….
